Brown and Daughter Removals

I have moved several times before and I wished I had always used these guys. Who knew? From the fair and honest estimate for the job, through all the to and fro over the changing completion date (blooming solicitors) they were helpful, patient and understanding. Excellent communication throughout and even when there crossed wires (our bad) they were flexible, kind and more than reasonable. Their team are top blokes to a man and the job was expedited with efficiency and speed. No drama. When it was all over I was surprised and delighted that I didn't feel as exhausted and traumatised as I had with previous moves. A friend recommended them and I owe her a thank you too.

The removal guys dropped our furniture in front of us, and were bullish about getting the job done and wanting cups of tea. They took our belongings to storage, the quote for which they gave was substantially lower than the storage company wanted. This led to a difficult situation where the removals company were extremely unhelpful and unpleasant. The upshot being we did not use them to move our belongings again and additional cost to storage, despite a 'discount' from the storage company. There was irreparable damage to our furniture, which as we used another firm For the second move I cannot prove it was them, but given the contrasting displays of care it could well have been.

Very happy with the Brown and Daughter's Removal team. Good value for money,as it included packing materials and moving insurance. I used Brown and Daughter's as it had been recommended to me by a friend,am very happy that I did use the firm. Had a couple of queries that needed sorting out,so phoned the company and they were very helpful in helping me answer all of my questions. The removal guys were always on time,and give me a call before hand to ask what time I would prefer them to come and start the move. I thought this was very good that they double checked it with me. The men were very friendly and motivated. I cannot complain. I will recommend the removal guys to family and friends,and will use the company again if I move again.

Removal men were polite, prompt and fast, however there were damages to some items. They damaged a sofa leg, broke a garden ornament and reassembled a wardrobe badly so now it is crooked. Before the move, I was told that for any damages there would be a refund. I phoned and spoke to the man who collected the boxes who said there would be a cheque in the post. There wasn't. I wrote a letter, but this was ignored. Once they have had their money, they don't want to know. I would not recommend this company.

Brown and Daughters were recommended to me by several people and I was not dissapointed. The gentleman that came out to provide a removals quotation was professional and knowledgeable. The lady who I arranged the removals date with was extemely helpful. Boxes were provided free of charge and collection arranged after the move at our convenience, which certainly helped when we had so many boxes to unpack. The removals team were friendly,helpful and efficient and made the stress of moving dissolve away. It was a really hot day and they worked so hard to get the job done. I would certainly recommend this removals company to anyone.

Verydissapointedwith this company, damage to my bed after removal men put it up, found out next day that they had put foot of bed on it's side and placed bed on top of it, I phoned and was told they would come and look but no one came so couple of weeks later I phoned again to be told that my bed was already broken when they put it up, strange they never said ?? anyway I have been left with it still broke, verydissapointedas I thought they were insured for these things, no call backs just been left now.

I genuinely can't express how good the guys were that moved us into our new home next week.

They not only sent packaging materials round well in advance, but completely disassembled, and reassembled the furniture in the new house. I hate moving house with a passion, but they pretty much did everything, leaving us felling a bit bad for just sitting there whilst they moved everything into the new place!

To the point of rebuilding, assembling, and positioning furniture, wardrobes and beds in the room, they were genuinely amazing. Made the move pretty much effortless, and made the day totally stress free, especially considering it was in the middle of the heat wave just last week and they powered through.

I can't recommend the company enough as they made what is usually a majorly stressful and knackering experience of moving into an absolute pleasure.

Company definitely overcharged us looking back. £500 not including VAT for a move half a mile down the road! Our fault for not shopping around more. The removal men rushed the job, and didn't even put all our furniture into the relevant rooms. Our bed was left in pieces in the dining room! I also found the men more obsessed with me making them tea than getting on with the job, when I was trying to get on with packing! We're in the process of moving again but I won't be using this company.
